Peace Dialogue’s Statements

During the three days following the capture of the Patrol Service Regiment in Yerevan on June 17, 2016 an unprecedented number of arrests, detentions, and beatings as well as the obstruction of the free movement of citizens and activists by the police were reported.

As representatives of civil society, we are deeply concerned about the attempts by Russian authorities to prosecute Valentina Cherevatenko, one of the most prominent civil society and public figures in Russia.

We, the below mentioned defenders of human rights demand that the political prisoner Vardges Gaspari be immediately released and persecution against him be stopped.

We, the representatives of the Armenian National Platform (ANP) of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, express our deep frustration regarding numerous violations recorded during the preparation, the conduct and the vote counting of December 6 Referendum on Amendments to the RA Constitution.

REGARDING RECENTLY EXECUTED EXECUTIVE ORDER N9 OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA (RA) MINISTER OF DEFENSE CONCERNING ACCESS TO INFORMATION ON NON-COMBAT DEATHS IN THE MILITARY.

The protests against the rising electricity prices, that started a couple of days ago in the capital of Armenia, resulted in the unjustified use of force against the protesters by the regime: in the morning of June 23, 2015the police used water cannons and armored vehicles to disperse the protesters after which hundreds of active citizens and journalists were forcefully detained.

We strongly condemn the continuous violent acts and inhuman behavior against the mothers of the soldiers that died in non-combat situations while serving our country in the army. We demand immediate measures be taken to eliminate this form of police aggression, avoid similar behavior and that public criminal proceedings be started against those who committed …
