The fields of media work and journalistic reporting have changed fundamentally in recent decades. Digitization, technical innovations and the proliferation of social media, have led to a new complexity of the media landscape.

Journalism has opened its borders to new forms of reporting, information is shared more quickly via social media than ever before, and with digitization, more and more people have access to current social issues. At the same time, however, the industry is also facing major challenges: hate speech, fake news and opinion mongering have triggered social and political debates in many places about the possibilities and limits of journalistic work.

Peace Dialogue implements youth exchange project “Journalism without Borders” in partnership with Une Terre Culturelle Association and German-French Youth Office in which 15-23 years old participants from Armenia (Lori region), France (Marseille), and Germany (Berlin) will be involved.

The aim of the project is to discuss with young people how they find their way in today’s media landscape and what opportunities they have to participate in public discourse.  This will contribute to reshape communication between future generations and strengthen and develop democratic instruments in order to give young people the opportunity to participate in political and social decision-making.

The program will be implemented in a hybrid version on July 19-23 at Peace Dialogue office. Each national team will participate together in the 5-day thematic workshop by meeting with other national team on the online platform from time to time.

If interested, please, send a short introductory letter (max 300 words) to [email protected] by July 12. Please, also clearly state there the reasons why you want to participate in this project.

Participation in the project is free of charge. All event expenses are covered with the financial means of the project.
