On the initiative of Peace Dialogue NGO, a public discussion entitled Prospect took place on 10-11 April, 2021. The purpose of the meeting was to promote public discourse on possible ways of overcoming the challenges of security, human rights protection and democracy in the newly-created situation as a result of the 44-day war. From a long-term perspective, the event was aimed at shaping a realistic vision of the future with the involvement of various public groups based on critical and self-critical analysis of lessons from the past and the present.

The event was held in accordance with Chatham House rules: participants can use the information related to the discussion without publishing the names of the authors who expressed opinions or thoughts. The discussion involved members of the Armenian Parliament, representatives of organizations operating in the fields of human rights, conflict transformation, journalism, public education, as well as individuals active in the field.

The participants of the public discussion carried out a comprehensive analysis of the urgent issues and challenges in the fields of security, human rights protection, democracy and other areas existing in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh in the course of the post-war period and developed possible approaches to withstand those issues.

Many of the participants emphasized the importance of continuing such meetings and that they should involve field experts and new participants in order to have in-depth and more tangible discussions on possible ways to solve the issues addressed.
