On 24 December, 2020, the RA Government approved Decree No. 2136-N on declaring 2020 winter conscription for compulsory military service and demobilization. According to the aforementioned Decree it is envisaged to conduct winter conscription for compulsory military service and alternative service from 25 December, 2020 until 31 March, 2021. Male citizens who are turning 18 by December 31 as well as the citizens whose previously-provided deferral from mandatory military service is terminating by December 31 will be conscripted to the army. In compliance with the Government’s Decree, within the framework of 2020 winter conscription, the servicemen who have completed their compulsory military or alternative military service will be demobilized until 14 February, 2021, as well as the ones in alternative labor service will be dismissed within the period defined by law.
