“Our Voices”: A Video Podcast for Young Audiences
Recognizing the insufficient attention given to the opinions and experiences of Armenian youth in the country’s political landscape, the “Our Voices” video-podcast—part of the “CONTACT 3.0” project—seeks to provide a platform for young people to engage in meaningful discussions about political and social issues. This initiative offers youth the chance to voice their perspectives without the need for any professional background or formal education. Here, we truly listen to the voices of the youth.

The death of conscript Vahram Avagyan forced the Armenian population to relaunch the discussions on the non-statutory relationships in the army and the underlying causes behind them. Edgar Khachatryan, the president of Peace Dialogue NGO, believes that reforms are needed in the armed forces to avoid casualties.
Discussion on the Activities Implemented by the Armenian MoD within the Framework of 2017-2019 Action Plan Derived from the National Strategy for Human Rights Protection.
Meeting participants emphasized the importance of civil society monitoring, and they expressed willingness to work together in developing the next three-year action plan.
Armenian Army: What Has Changed After the Velvet Revolution
Edgar Khachatryan is the head of the Vanadzor based NGO Peace Dialogue. Among the other topics, this organization is dealing with the human rights issues in the Armenian Army. In his interview with CivilNet’s Tatul Hakobyan, Khachatryan discusses the changes that have been conveyed in the Armenian Army since the Velvet Revolution in 2018.
Families in the Dark Documentary (With English Subtitles)
Peace Dialogue NGO presents the documentary film, Families in the Dark, by Vahagn Antonyan. The film was completed in 2019 and addresses issues that arise during criminal investigations of the deaths of non-combatant soldiers in the Armenian Armed Forces. These issues are presented through testimonies given by the family members of Levon Torosyan who, according to official records, died by suicide in May 2018 during his mandatory military service.
The story of Mark L. Tyulpanov, who spoke with flowers
Dear visitors, we are pleased to announce that the animated film “The story of Mark L. Tyulpanov, who spoke with flowers” by Ukrainian artist Dana Kavelina is now available on Peace Dialogue’s website. This film was produced by Dana in the scope of the project ARENA: Community Theater and Public Art in 2017. When the film was almost ready for publishing author’s computer was stolen and all the materials were lost.
Arena: Summer School for Peace and Art // 2018
On August 2-12, the 3rd Summer School organized within the scope of “ARENA: Community Theatre and Public Art” took place in Borjomi, Georgia. Around 40 activists from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, and Georgia participated in the final meeting of the four-year program initiated by Peace Dialogue NGO and its German partner OWEN e.V.
Meet Mark Tyulpanov and others
“The story of Mark Lvovoch Tyulpanov was born in the project Arena: for one of the working meetings we were asked to present creative products about peace initiatives. Since this task was entrusted to me by our group, I decided to talk to all Ukrainian participants of the ARENA. My colleagues, who have been dealing with problems of refugees and internally displaced persons for many years, told me several stories, for example about a man who still misses his garden, or about two brothers who have taken different sides in the Ukrainian conflict. From all those stories, I have picked one that describes our situation more comprehensively, therefore Mark Tyulpanov is a collective character.” – said Dana Kavelina, one of the Ukrainian participants of the project ARENA: Community Theatre and Public Art.
Currently Dana is in Vanadzor, Armenia, where she continues her work on making an animated film based on her story.
