On October 21, 2022, the RA Government’s draft resolution on “Establishing procedure of implementing pre-conscription preparation at public schools, primary (craftsmanship) and secondary vocational education institutions” was published on the joint website of the Ministry of Justice where drafts of legal acts are published.
Armenian-Azerbaijani Conflict Impacts on Prospects of Armenian Civil Society’s Activities

Armenian civil society organizations request OHCHR’s intervention in relation to ongoing aggression by Azerbaijan

A group of Armenian civil society organizations, led by Open Society Foundations – Armenia, submitted a letter to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk calling for OHCHR’s intervention in relation to the ongoing aggression by Azerbaijan against Armenia.
“Specifically, we request the deployment of a fact-finding mission to investigate violations of human rights and humanitarian law during the two-day attack Azerbaijan launched against Armenia, in the sovereign territory of the latter. In addition, we request a longer-term monitoring mission along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a preventive measure for further use of force and human rights abuses”, says the letter, signed by Armenian NGOs.
Peace Dialogue’s Recommendations on the Actions to Include in the 2023-2025 Action Plan Deriving from the National Strategy for Human Rights Protection

In response to the public inquiry on August 30 made by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia to come up with recommendations on the new 2023-2025 Action Plan deriving from the National Strategy for Human Rights Protection, Peace Dialogue NGO presented a package of recommendations consisting of 24 points.
Peacebuilding?! Perspectives of Armenian and Azerbaijani Peace Practitioners

In this publication we would like to reflect on the situation of peacebuilders in Armenia and Azerbaijan and to show the local voices on the ground. Finalizing this project, we did not find answers to all our doubts and questions, but by sharing our experience we hope to highlight some crucial points, that contribute to the efforts for peace building in the region. Throughout the text, the “CONTACT” initiatives will be introduced in small textboxes to provide some insight into the work “on the ground”.
Developing Inclusive Oversight of Security Sector in Armenia

On 1 and 2 June, 2022, the Netherlands-based organization Centre for European Security Studies (CESS) in partnership with Peace Dialogue NGO convened two policy labs discussions in Yerevan on the topic of Democratic Security Sector Oversight. The discussions were organized in the scope of the project Developing Inclusive Oversight of Security Sector (DIOS).
As a first phase of the project, the policy labs discussions were particularly aimed at implementing inclusive and participatory assessment of issues and challenges obstructing the effective democratic oversight of the Security Sector in Armenia.
