Peace Dialogue Has Initiated a Strategic Litigation

Peace Dialogue NGO has initiated a strategic litigation for the protection of the right of military servicemen who have graduated from military-educational institutions and refuse post-educational military service. With the involvement of lawyer Artur Sukiasyan, the organization is planning to apply to the court on the basis of one of the military servicemen enrolled in the RA Reserve Military Forces with the request to invalidate the RA government decree provision applied on him. In the case of refusal of post-educational military service, servicemen who have graduated from military-educational institutions must compensate the expenses of their education. The compensation procedure is set in the RA Governmental Decree 393-Nof 8 April, 2010.
Human Rights in the Armed Forces. A Step-by-Step Guide for Future Conscripts

Dear visitors, Peace Dialogue NGO has released a step-by-step guide for future conscripts called “Human Rights in the Armed Forces.” The guide has been developed based on the issues raised by citizens, who have applied to Peace Dialogue NGO over the past years. That is to say, the authors tried to introduce pre-conscription and conscription aged young people to their rights concerning the compulsory military conscription, as well as the service itself, in an easier and more comprehensive way.
Invitation for Cooperation

The newly formed government presented its program to the National Assembly, which was approved by a majority vote on June 7. A key argument against the program was that it bore a resemblance to a wish list with zero measurability. During the Parliamentary session on the government project, Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that an action plan to clarify the terms of implementation and the measurability of their outcomes was under development and would soon be presented.

On the 10th of January, 2019 Peace Dialogue will celebrate its 10-year anniversary. Did you know that the first initiatives of this organization started in August of 2008? At that time, before receiving the official registration, the founding members were working on developing the vision of the organization, its mission, strategic goals and were designing the first activities derived from that strategy.

Peace Dialogue NGO announces a call for applications for participation in the EU funded youth mobility project “Rethinking, Cooperating, Sharing”.
This cross-cultural project is intended for young people aged 18-25, who are ready to actively contribute to the dissemination of experience gained within the scope of the project.

According to official numbers, more than 496,000 people were forcibly evicted from Chechnya and Ingushetia by Stalin’s regime in 1944. The official documents state that 411,000 people were sent to Kazakhstan and 86,000 to Kyrgyzstan. Other sources put the number much higher, at over 650,000. Chechen historians claim that about 400,000 people died during the deportation.
