In a recent interview with 1.am, Edgar Khachatryan, the head of Peace Dialogue NGO, emphasized the importance of oversight in the army and discussed the multilayer problems existing in the military forces.
“Oversight in the army is one of the most important issues,” Khachatryan said, “there is a lack of civil oversight, conservative approach of the defence sector, and problems concerning the government circles.”
Khachatryan also highlighted issues such as the improper selection of groups taking officer training programs and the illogical construction of military training.
“The program should be developed under logical principles so that the participant gets the review of the value,” he suggested.
According to Khachatryan, the construction of the system and personnel training should be given special consideration to overcome the challenges in the military forces.
