With this initiative, Peace Dialogue strives to foster the government’s efforts towards improvement of human right situation in the defense sector, by instigating a constant civil society monitoring of implementation of the Action Plan 2020-2022 deriving from the Armenia’s National Strategy on Human Rights Protection and providing evidence-based recommendations for improving the effectiveness of the activities of the Parliament, state institutions and relevant local and international stakeholders.

In the framework of the aforementioned project, which will last until May 31, 2023, Peace Dialogue will carry on the monitoring activities of defense sector institutions in the scope of Human Rights Action Plan 2020-2022. Moreover, the organization will continue providing legal assistance to citizens on the defense-sector related issues, in particular on cases of human rights violations within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated in connection with incidents recorded during the military service. In the course of the project, Peace Dialogue will develop evidence-based policy recommendations to responsible authorities and to local and international stakeholders aimed at addressing existing human rights-related issues and improving the situation of human rights protection in Armenia’s defense sector.

Total budget of the project is 43,000.00 Euros.
