Peace Dialogue NGO is planning to organize several screenings and discussions of a documentary prepared with the financial support of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation. After participation in the “Principles and Criteria of Conflict Reporting” training course organized by the Eurasia Partnership Foundation in February of 2009, aimed to improving the capacities of journalists for reporting on current developments in the Armenian-Azeri conflict, Vahagn Antonyan, a member of Peace Dialogue, together with his partner from Azerbaijan Asef Aliyev - director of Military Patriotic Programs of AZ TV - created the script of a documentary called “Neither War nor Peace.”

The filming process was held in parallel in Armenia and Azerbaijan during 2009 and joint editing was done in Tbilisi. As Vahagn Antonyan shares, “This documentary is about those who have suffered from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and with this film we have tried to show what war is, what the contingencies and disasters of war are, based on the examples of concrete human stories.” He expresses his hope that as a result of this documentary the enemy image among the societies of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be reduced.
The finalized version of the film documents two people from both countries, shares their feelings and what they saw during the war, what they missed, and shares their reflection on their visions of war both from before and after the conflict. It is expected that the documentary will be screened in Armenia and Azerbaijan with the aim of raising the attention of the societies toward the problems of people - such as refugees, ex-combatants, the wounded - who directly suffered from the conflict.
